ALGIERS - The Arab-African Investment and Development Center (CAAID) announced, Monday in a press release, the organization of the 12th edition of the African Investment and Trade Forum (AFIC 12) on May 9 and 10 in Algiers, under the theme "Together, we open the markets", with high-level participation of economic actors, financial and development institutions from different countries.
The organization of this continental event comes in the context of strengthening the dynamic of African economic cooperation, the forum being organized in partnership with the African Union (AU), the African Export-Import Bank (Afreximbank) and the Secretariat of the African Continental Free Trade Area (ZLECAF), which "reflects its place as a strategic platform to support economic integration at the continental level", adds the press release.
This edition aims to "move from the phase of exchange of views and recommendations to that of the realization of practical partnerships, with emphasis on productive investment, the development of inter-African trade, and the facilitation of access to markets, in accordance with the new directions of the African economy", adds the same source.
The forum will constitute a unifying continental space for the exchange of expertise and knowledge, bringing together businessmen, investors and representatives of economic and financial institutions, as well as chambers of commerce and industry and regional and international organizations, in order to examine opportunities for cooperation and explore new prospects for common economic growth.
The event also aims to support sustainable economic partnerships and strengthen joint efforts to achieve comprehensive development, in line with the objectives of Africa's Agenda 2063, which places economic integration at the heart of its strategic priorities, adds CAAID.
The organizers of the forum stressed that this edition "will constitute a qualitative step to strengthen economic dynamics within the African continent and open broader prospects for investments and trade, serving the common interests of African countries and their international partners.
