Morocco: 360 million USD in trade with the DRC and Senegal

In Luanda, Morocco consolidates its strategic partnerships with Senegal and the Democratic Republic of Congo. Trade, investments, sovereignty and regional stability were at the center of the discussions led by Nasser Bourita, in a context of strengthening African integration.
As part of the 26th extraordinary session of the Executive Council of the African Union held in Luanda, Nasser Bourita, Moroccan Minister of Foreign Affairs, conducted a series of diplomatic talks with his counterparts from the Democratic Republic of Congo and Senegal. Reflecting the shared aspiration to seal a lasting political, economic and security partnership between these nations, these consultations allow Rabat to establish its foothold within the continent through strategic alliances based on cooperation.

Focused on strengthening a strategic partnership, discussions with Senegal are based on bilateral trade exceeding $300 million in 2025, supported by Morocco's key position as a major investor. At the same time, with regard to the DRC, whose trade amounts to nearly 60 million dollars, the two parties aim to intensify their collaboration in infrastructure, services and the mining industry. These consultations also highlighted the imperative to preserve the sovereignty, territorial integrity and stability of the region.
Faced with security issues and development challenges, Morocco, Senegal and the Democratic Republic of Congo share a common vision focused on stability, continental integration and economic cooperation. Through these alliances, the Kingdom reaffirms its commitment to consolidating synergies on an African scale.
