The three-day TRICON conference will bring together Turkish officials and American investors. Objective: explore opportunities in the fields of energy, technology, finance, advanced manufacturing in particular.
Turkey and the United States are expected to deepen economic ties in New York this week, as top officials and business leaders gather for the 19th Turkish Investment Conference (TRICON), with a target of $100 billion in bilateral trade and new investment partnerships among the priorities.
Organized by the Türkiye Foreign Economic Relations Council (DEİK) and its Türkiye – United States Business Council (TAİK), the September 21-23 conference brings together Turkish officials, American investors and top business leaders during the week of the United Nations General Assembly.
The three-day event aims to expand trade and investment in strategic sectors, while supporting Turkey's goal of strengthening economic ties with the United States. It takes place against the backdrop of Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan's visit to the United States.
Energy and technology take center stage
The conference program includes seven industry meetings covering areas such as energy, advanced technology, financial services, semiconductors, mobility, renewable energy and advanced manufacturing.
The health, digital technologies, communications and space sectors are also expected to be addressed, reflecting the growing interest in high value-added industries and emerging technologies.
Türkiye is expected to highlight investment opportunities and incentives to attract international capital, including its HIT30 high-tech investment program.
Cybersecurity and digital transformation will also be among the topics discussed, as Ankara seeks to expand cooperation with US companies and encourage investment in technology-driven industries.
DEİK describes TRICON as an annual platform bringing together senior Turkish officials and leading US investors as well as Fortune 100 companies. The conference has become a key venue for business discussions held in New York during the week of the United Nations General Assembly.
Erdogan expected to meet US business leaders
Erdogan, who arrived in New York on Sunday to attend the 81st session of the United Nations General Assembly, is expected to meet U.S. business leaders during his visit to the city, according to the conference schedule.
DEİK Chairman Nail Olpak and TAİK Chairman Murat Ozyegin are among the Turkish business representatives attending the event, while Chobani Founder and CEO Hamdi Ulukaya is also expected to attend.
This meeting will provide Turkish and American companies with the opportunity to discuss investment projects, supply chains and potential partnerships in strategic business sectors.
For Turkey, the United States remains a major export market and investment partner, as Turkish companies seek to strengthen their presence in the American market. For their part, American companies increasingly consider Türkiye as a regional production, logistics and investment hub.
A business target of $100 billion
The $100 billion trade target is expected to remain a central theme of discussions, with both sides seeking ways to increase bilateral trade and investment.
TRICON will combine high-level meetings with sectoral sessions and business discussions, providing participating companies with the opportunity to explore concrete projects and partnerships.
This conference is also part of Türkiye's broader economic diplomacy efforts to attract foreign investment in sectors considered critical to future growth, including clean energy, advanced manufacturing, digital technologies and high-tech industries.
As top officials and business leaders meet on the sidelines of the United Nations General Assembly, organizers seek to turn political and economic dialogue into new business opportunities and stronger trade ties between Turkey and the United States.
