TECHNICAL MEETING WITH EXPERTS ON THE OGOA-DRC STRATEGY

After the meeting with the Congolese diplomat accredited to the United States of America, the Minister of Foreign Trade, Julien Paluku Kahongya
organized a technical meeting with experts to review the OGOA-DRC strategy with 5 mining products and 18 non-mining products which will be submitted to the Council of Ministers before the meeting on the renewal of AGOA scheduled for mid-July 2024 in Washington in the United States of America.

The Congolese Government will put in place incentive measures to support economic operators working in several sectors including cocoa, coffee, textiles, chili, palm oil, tea, soy sugar, cassava, pineapple,
mangosteen and tobacco but also in the 5 strategic minerals which now constitute the first products that the DRC will now export to the United States of America, said the Minister of Foreign Trade.

The modernization of the Congolese Control Office-OCC with ultra-modern certified laboratories is a priority so that the DRC can benefit from AGOA which allows African countries to export their products to the United States of America without customs duties, he added.

During this meeting, the Minister threw flowers to the experts for the work done during the development of the AGOA-DRC strategy.
