AFRICA-SPAIN BUSINESS SUMMIT IN BARCELONA: PARTICIPATION OF MINISTER JULIEN PALUKU KAHONGYA
Representing the Democratic Republic of Congo at the Africa-Spain business summit being held in Barcelona, the Minister
Congolese Foreign Trade called on Spanish economic operators to form partnerships with the African continent in the development of agri-food and mineral value chains but also in the sectors of new technologies, road and rail infrastructure,
ports and airports and renewable energies, in a mutually advantageous approach; because Africa is now committed to the local transformation of its natural resources in order to add value to them, insisted Julien Paluku Kahongya in his speech to Spanish employers.
In the panel which had the theme "Understanding the forces that shape the African market and unlocking investment and trade opportunities", Minister Julien Paluku Kahongya declared that the DRC has already adopted its National Strategy for the Promotion of Exports and Market Diversification with a list of 62 priority sectors in the agro-business sector.
On this occasion, he called on Spain to strengthen its trade with the DRC and to come and invest there, because it is full of enormous opportunities.
Thanks to its strategic minerals and forests but also the local transformation of its natural resources, Africa must be the solution continent in the energy transition, no longer the Africa of wars, the Africa of famine, the Africa of poverty, the Africa of disasters,
Africa is cursed and Africa is in a bad position and whose colonial economic model favored the so-called northern countries, concluded the Congolese Minister of Foreign Trade.
