STRATEGIC MEETING WITH THE CEO OF HUNAN RENJIAN WOXIANG AGRICULTURE GROUP ON THE EXPORT OF CONGOLESE COFFEE, COCOA AND PEPPER TO CHINA
China, through the CEO of Hunan Renjian Woxiang Agriculture Group, Yi Gaowen, once again formulated this Sunday his request for thousands of tons of Congolese products, particularly coffee, cocoa and pepper, which are very popular with the Chinese.
This good news was delivered yesterday Sunday in Kinshasa to the Minister of Foreign Trade, Julien Paluku Kahongya by Yi Gaowen, CEO of Hunan Renjian Woxiang Agriculture Group.
The definition of the strategy to support local Congolese farmers who must be grouped within agricultural cooperatives, with the support of the Ministries of Agriculture and Rural Development, was at the center of this strategic meeting.
The Minister of Foreign Trade calls on the Congolese to return to their sources, namely agriculture, because the strategy of promoting exports of Congolese products and the diversification of markets put in place by his ministry constitutes an instrument for supporting farmers and promoting their products on the international market, he insisted.
After the remission of the Democratic Republic of Congo to AGOA, an American law which allows eligible Sub-Saharan African countries to export most of their products to the United States of America without customs duties and without obligation of reciprocity, a trade agreement defining the list of Congolese products admitted to the Chinese market will be signed shortly to seal this partnership.
And the control of product quality will be reinforced by the Congolese Control Office-OCC which will be equipped with ultra-modern certified laboratories to thus make Congolese products competitive on the international market, concluded the Minister of Foreign Trade.
