STRATEGIC MEETING WITH THE AMBASSADOR OF ETHIOPIA TO THE DRC ON THE SIGNATURE OF A BILATERAL TRADE AGREEMENT AND WITH A DELEGATION FROM THE WORLD BANK ON THE DEVELOPMENT OF INFRASTRUCTURES TO FACILITATE TRADE UNDER THE LOBITO CORRIDOR PROJECT.
It is towards the signing of a bilateral trade agreement between the Democratic Republic of Congo and the Federal Republic of Ethiopia, now determined to increase their trade, because Kinshasa and Addis Ababa, which are among the most populated capitals in Africa, constitute a very large number of consumers.
This Thursday, December 11, 2025 in Kinshasa, the Minister of Foreign Trade, Julien Paluku Kahongya, who encouraged the consolidation of cooperation in aviation with the contribution of cargo ships as part of the Air Congo partnership, in the export of Congolese products to Ethiopia. The Ethiopian Ambassador to the DRC, Mekuria Cetachew Worku, indicated that food products made in the DRC have several consumers in his country, so they agreed to set up a joint commission of experts with the mission of developing a road map to accelerate the signing of this trade agreement between these two countries which have a great common history.
Just after, the construction and modernization of infrastructure to facilitate trade within the framework of the Lobito Corridor Project including one-stop cross-border posts and dry ports, from Sakania in Haut-Katanga to Dilolo in Lualaba, rail connection point to Angola, but also, the integration of agriculture, energy, local processing of natural resources and vocational training in this Lobito Corridor project, these points were at the forefront. center of a strategic meeting with a team from the World Bank led by Binyam Reja, Head of Transport and Infrastructure.
