TECHNICAL MEETING WITH THE NEW GENERAL SECRETARY FOR FOREIGN TRADE, EUGÈNE MANGA MANGA ON NEW DIRECTIONS
It was this Monday, February 9, 2026 that the new Secretary General for Foreign Trade, Eugène Manga Manga, received the new directions from the Minister of Foreign Trade Julien Paluku Kahongya, the objective of further promoting this sector which is the lever of economic growth in the Democratic Republic of Congo.
The effective implementation of the agreement on trade facilitation of the World Trade Organization-WTO, the consolidation of the establishment of the Commercial Information Portal-PIC and the strategic partnerships signed with the United Kingdom, the Arab Emirates, China and the United States of America with the renewal of AGOA, the World Trade Organization-WTO through the Reinforced Integrated Framework-CIR, the Conference of Nations United for Trade and Development - UNCTAD and the International Trade Center-ICC;
but still, the examination of the trade policy of the Democratic Republic of Congo and the preparation of the WTO ministerial conference scheduled for March 26 to 29 in Yaoundé, Cameroon, are among the priorities assigned to the new head of the Foreign Trade administration called to work in continuity.
Shortly before, Minister Julien Paluku exchanged the outgoing Secretary General for Foreign Trade, Jules Muilu Mbo, to whom he threw flowers for the quality work done while adding that his expertise in international trade must remain of benefit to the Republic.
