39TH ORDINARY SUMMIT OF THE AFRICAN UNION: THE ACCELERATION OF THE IMPLEMENTATION OF THE ZLECAF WITH THE CONTRIBUTION OF FINANCE MINISTERS AND THE CONSTRUCTION AND MODERNIZATION OF THE DRC-ZAMBIA-ZIMBABWE- BOTSWANA-RSA BORDERS AT THE CENTER OF A STRATEGIC MEETING THIS THURSDAY IN ADDIS ABABA BETWEEN THE MINISTER OF FOREIGN TRADE, JULIEN PALUKU KAHONGYA AND THE GENERAL SECRETARY OF ZLECAF, WAMKENE MENE

The acceleration of the effective implementation of the African Continental Free Trade Area-ZLECAF which involves tariff dismantling, this time with the contribution of the Ministers of Finance to give instructions at the customs level, but also the modernization of the borders of the Democratic Republic of Congo, Zambia, Zimbabwe, Botswana and the South African Republic with the construction of one-stop border posts with the support of DP Word to streamline the passage goods; these two points were at the center of a strategic meeting this Thursday, February 12, 2026 in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia on the sidelines of the 39th summit of Heads of State and Government of the African Union scheduled for February 14 to 15 under the theme "Ensuring the availability of water and safe sanitation systems to achieve the objectives of the 2026 agenda.

Note that the Ministers of Commerce from the 4 countries mentioned above will meet on February 18 in Dubai during DP Word to define the modalities for modernizing their borders.
