MINISTRY OF FOREIGN TRADE: TECHNICAL MEETING ON THE SUCCESS OF THE ORGANIZATION OF THE HIGH-LEVEL NATIONAL WORKSHOP SCHEDULED FOR MARCH 17 TO 18, 2026 AND OF SPECIALIZED TECHNICAL TRAINING ON COMPUTATIONAL TOOLS OF THE PRODUCTIVE CAPACITY INDEX, SCHEDULED FOR MARCH 19 TO 18, 2026. MARCH 20, 2026, CHAIRED THIS TUESDAY IN KINSHASA BY MINISTER JULIEN PALUKU KAHONGYA

To reassure ourselves of the success of the organization of the high-level National Workshop scheduled for March 17 to 18, 2026 in Kinshasa and the specialized technical training, devoted to the methodology and computational tools of the Productive Capacities Index, dedicated to the heads of statistical services of the public administrations concerned, scheduled for March 19 to 20, 2026 in the Congolese capital, and this, as part of the modernization of the partnership between the Republic Democratic Republic of Congo and United Nations Conference on Trade and Development-UNCTAD; The Minister of Foreign Trade, Julien Paluku Kahongya chaired a technical meeting this Tuesday March 10, 2026 in Kinshasa with the team responsible for organizing this major event.
The quality work carried out by the various sub-commissions, with great involvement of sectoral ministries and the private sector made up of the Federation of Congolese Businesses-FEC, the National Federation of Artisans of Small and Medium Enterprises of Congo-FENAPEC, the Confederation of Congolese Small and Medium Enterprises - COPEMECO, the Association of Congolese Women Entrepreneurs, universities, civil society, producers and exporters, but also experts in UNCTAD, was welcomed by the Minister of Foreign Trade.

This high-level National Workshop and specialized technical training aim to strengthen productive capacities focused on industrialization, economic diversification and inclusive growth, but also to identify, analyze and prioritize sectors with high export potential, with the mobilization of donors to thus promote exports of products made in DRC, indicated the Minister of Foreign Trade while adding that this approach aims to position the DRC as an actor capable of gaining market share in the Continental area of the ZLECAF and in the Multilateral Trade system.

In front of the press at the end of this technical meeting, Jules Mwilu Mboo, Chief Expert in international trade within the Ministry of Foreign Trade, indicated that this high-level National Workshop constitutes the first major operational activity of the Productive Capacity Development Program - PCI and prepares the country for the development of the Country Program Document, a multi-year strategic roadmap
