The South African company Industrial Development Corporation-IDC specializes in increasing industrial capacity in Africa, with particular emphasis on inclusive industrialization by stimulating the development of regional value chains in different sectors including mining, agri-food and renewable energy as well as job creation, but also, the Business Holding company specializing in the production, distribution and marketing of pharmaceutical products, invited to come and set up in the Democratic Republic of Congo which is full of enormous opportunities in several areas, and this, by moving towards Special Economic Zones to benefit from tax, parafiscal and customs advantages.
Call launched this Tuesday, April 28, 2026 in Kinshasa by the Congolese Government through the Minister of Foreign Trade, Julien Paluku Kahongya, during a strategic meeting with the CEO of the IDC, Mmakgoshi Lekhethe and the Chairman of Business Holding, Kingsley Tloubatla accompanied by their experts and the General Director of the Industry Promotion Fund-FPI, Jean Claude Batukonke, who recently signed a memorandum of understanding with these South African firms in Captown.
On behalf of the Congolese Government, the Minister of Foreign Trade reassured these investors of the consolidation of the improvement of the business climate in the DRC, but also of the support and protection of the Congolese State, once installed, while calling on Industrial Development Corporation-IDC to join the project in turn of the battery and electric vehicle industry, which the DRC is developing in the Special Economic Zone of Musompo, in the province of Lualaba.
In front of the press, the Director General of the FPI, Jean Claude Batukonke, made it clear that the expected installation of these large South African companies constitutes a fallout from the organization last February in Kinshasa of the South African economic mission.
