MINISTRY OF FOREIGN TRADE: MODERNIZATION OF THE OCC: DELIVERY THIS SATURDAY IN KINSHASA OF ULTRAMODERN EQUIPMENT TO THE LABORATORIES OF THE CONGOLESE CONTROL OFFICE-OCC KINSHANSA- MATADI-KALEMIE, RENOVATED, BY MINISTER JULIEN PALUKU KAHONGYA

Strengthening consumer protection and safety in the Democratic Republic of Congo, the Congolese Government, through the Minister of Foreign Trade, Julien Paluku Kahongya, this Saturday, May 16, 2026, handed over ultra-modern equipment to the physico-chemical and microbiological analysis laboratories of the Congolese Control Office-OCC in Kinshasa, Matadi and Kalemie; equipment that improves the quality of controls and analyses, and reinforces compliance with national and international standards, because it is capable of processing several parameters simultaneously, thus reducing delays.
Very happy to have fulfilled one of his promises as part of the vision of the President of the Republic, Félix Tshisekedi Tshilombo, the Minister of Foreign Trade speaks from the camp on the modernization of the OCC network of 88 laboratories to strengthen the protection of populations and announces that in 3 months the OCC will acquire a laboratory specializing in the analysis of petroleum products in Lubumbashi and shortly software to control pharmaceutical products and cosmetics, with QR Code scanning, will be launched, where non-compliant products will be destroyed by the prosecution and fines will be imposed on fraudsters, because the DRC is not a dumping ground, insisted Julien Paluku Kahongya.

For the Interim Director General of the Congolese Control Office-OCC, Christellle Muabilu, the acquisition of this cutting-edge equipment represents a pivotal step in the modernization of the OCC, which must play a major role in promoting the competitiveness of products made in DRC on the international market.
