MINISTRY OF FOREIGN TRADE; TECHNICAL MEETING WITH ADB AND ACGT ON MOBILIZATION OF RESOURCES TO FINANCE PRIORITY PROJECTS IN DRC

The Congolese Government and the African Development Bank-AfDB are now committed to strengthening a new partnership based on permanent dialogue to mobilize resources in order to finance priority structuring projects including the development of the cocoa sector in the DRC, the construction and digitalization of one-stop border posts in Kasindi, Kasumbalesa and Lufu, the Kasindi - Beni- Komanda- Mambasa- Bafwasende- Kisangani- Dulia - Aketi- corridor. Lisala-Gemena-Zongo, the Tanzania-Burundi-Kindu railway to open up the center of the DRC and connect it to the Indian Ocean via the port of Dar es Salaam, the development of Special Economic Zones along the Lobito and Banana transport corridors, transforming them into industrial development corridors, and the urban mobility corridor to streamline transport in Kinshasa as well as the road-rail bridge Kinshasa-Brazzaville.

Outcome of the technical meeting this Wednesday, June 24, 2026 in Kinshasa between the Minister of Foreign Trade, Julien Paluku Kahongya, Personal Representative of the Head of State to the African Union Development Agency-New Partnership for Africa's Development-AUDA-NEPAD and the Deputy Director General for Central Africa of the African Development Bank-AfDB, Mohamed Chérif, and this, in the presence of experts, a meeting which takes place after that of June 4 in Abidjan in Ivory Coast, between the Minister of Foreign Trade and the Vice-President of this pan-African financial institution, Salomon Quaynor.

Very pragmatic, just after, the Minister discussed with the Deputy Director General of the Congolese Agency for Major Works- ACGT, Jean-Claude Mido Mbuete, on the menu, the implementation of strategies to benefit from financing from the African Development Bank-ADB and AUDA-NEPAD, for the benefit of integrative projects.
These two personalities, surrounded by their experts, reviewed the projects with feasibility studies, the projects without studies, the projects in progress, the projects financed by the Government and the projects for which financing remains to be sought.

Note that the AfDB and AUDA-NEPAD will be formally contacted in order to examine all of these projects presented by the ACGT.
