MINISTRY OF FOREIGN TRADE TECHNICAL MEETING WITH THE REINFORCED INTEGRATED FRAMEWORK-CIR ON THE FINALIZATION OF THE DRC COUNTRY PROGRAM DOCUMENT, ON THE SIDE OF THE WTO PUBLIC FORUM 2026 IN GENEVA

On the sidelines of the 2026 Public Forum of the World Trade Organization-WTO which is being held in Geneva, Switzerland, the Minister of Foreign Trade accompanied by experts is multiplying technical and strategic meetings to thus consolidate the economic and commercial diplomacy of the DRC carried out under the leadership of President Félix Tshisekedi; with the Executive Director of the Reinforced Integrated Center-CIR, Aïssatou Diallo, it was a question of evaluating the finalization of the Country Program Document of the Democratic Republic of Congo, which is part of the multilateral program of the Reinforced Integrated Framework-CIR dedicated to aid for trade for Least Developed Countries-LDCs.

The new approach of phase III 2025-2031 of the Reinforced Integrated Framework-CIR aims to transform trade and investment into sustainable, resilient and inclusive drivers for the economic transformation of the country and is based on 4 strategic axes including the strengthening of governance and institutions, the development of productive capacities and priority sectors including palm oil, soy, cassava, cocoa and coffee; gender inclusion and sustainability, with support for micro, small and medium enterprises-SMEs, in particular, those led by women and young people, digitalization and trade facilitation, with the promotion of digital trade and services.

At the end of this meeting, it was decided to strengthen the mobilization of technical and financial partners, because the target was set for mid-October 2026 to finalize and present the DRC Country Program Document in Geneva.
