PARTICIPATION OF THE MINISTER OF FOREIGN TRADE IN THE DRC-CHINA ECONOMIC FORUM IN BEIJING

In front of the managers of 300 Chinese and Congolese companies taking part in the Economic Forum Democratic Republic of Congo-People's Republic of China which started yesterday in Beijing, the Congolese Minister of Foreign Trade, Julien Paluku Kahongya promoted the products that the DRC wants to increase the volume of its trade with China including coffee, cocoa, pepper, avocado, soya in addition to minerals while inviting Chinese investors to come and do business in agroindustry, because the DRC has nearly 80 million hectares of Arab land and 4 million irrigable lands.

The memoranda of understanding and economic partnerships will be signed on September 4, 2024 by Congolese and Chinese companies, before the start of the China-Africa Economic Forum.
FOCA-2024 scheduled for September 5 and to close on September 6.

Several African Heads of State present in the Chinese capital, including the Congolese Félix Tshisekedi, will take part in this major business meeting which will focus on the future of Chinese investments in Africa, led by the DRC with 20 billion US dollars for a 2024-2035 roadmap.

Note that on September 7, the Congolese Minister of Foreign Trade and his colleague of Agriculture will sign agreements on the export of some agricultural products to China with commercial preferences and B2B will be there on this occasion.

Taking part this morning in the 9th ministerial conference of the Forum on Sino-African Cooperation, the Minister of Foreign Trade highlighted the opportunities offered by the DRC in different sectors.
For Julien Paluku Kahongya, the perception of the DRC seen from the outside must challenge all Congolese not to beat themselves up despite their differences, hence we are called to speak well about ourselves so that we are better spoken about internationally, he insisted.

The Minister of Foreign Trade added that the Chinese do not fight when they are conquering markets, they use the strategy of ants to cross the big rivers and face the big obstacles by sticking together.
