STRENGTHENING DRC-CHINA COMMERCIAL AND ECONOMIC COOPERATION
The strengthening of commercial and economic cooperation between the Democratic Republic of Congo and the People's Republic of China was at the center of a strategic meeting this Wednesday in Changsha in Hunan, the native province of Mao Zedong between the Congolese Minister of Foreign Trade, Julien Paluku Kahongya and the Chinese Vice Minister of Commerce, Tang Wenhong, a few hours before the launch of the 4th edition of the Sino-African economic and commercial exhibition.
On this occasion, these two personalities
evaluated the agreement signed in 2024 in Beijing on the sidelines of the China-Africa Economic Forum by the Ministers of Commerce of these two countries, notably Julien Paluku Kahongya and Wang Wentao, on the export of Congolese products to China without payment of customs duties.
Also the financing of feasibility studies to carry out projects in the 5 priority sectors including infrastructure, energy, agroindustry, mines and professional training was also at the heart of this tête-à-tête; because China has reaffirmed its commitment to executing structuring projects as part of 10 actions announced by President Xi Jinping to raise 50 billion US dollars for African countries during the China-Africa Economic Forum
Furthermore, the Minister of State, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Thérèse Kayikwamba Vagner and her colleague from Foreign Trade are taking part in the meeting of African Ministers with the Chinese side focused on the consolidation of economic cooperation between Africa and China.
