FOREIGN TRADE: 2.45% DROP IN THE PRICE OF COCOA
Kinshasa, June 24, 2025 (ACP).- The price of a kilogram of cocoa, an export product of the Democratic Republic of Congo, saw a drop of 2.45% on international markets, trading at 9.16 USD the week of June 23 to 28, 2025 against 9.39 US dollars the previous week, according to a press release from the national mercurial commission of the Ministry of Foreign Trade consulted Tuesday by the ACP.
“The price of a kilogram of cocoa experienced a drop of 2.45% per kilogram on international markets, during the period from June 23 to 28, 2025, trading at USD 9.16, the week under review against USD 9.39 the previous week,” we read.
According to the document, in addition to cocoa, two other agricultural and forest products are declining on international markets, namely Robusta coffee and Arabica coffee.
They traded at USD 4.14 and USD 6.38 per kilogram, respectively, the week under review compared to USD 4.37 and USD 6.75 per kilogram in the previous week.
Prices of other agricultural and small forest products remained unchanged.
Furthermore, the document indicated that six (6) agricultural and small forestry products remained stable on international markets during the highlighted week, namely: rubber, papain, cinchona bark, Totaquina powder, quinine and Rauwolfia.
These products traded respectively at 1 USD, 21.72 USD, 1.53 USD, 54.00 USD, 91.80 and 1.53 US dollars per kilogram during the week under review, the same price as the week of June 16 to 21, 2025.
However, the increase and stability in the prices of commercial mining, agricultural and small forestry products, the document underlined, are a result of supply and demand on international markets as well as the supply chain.
