UNIVERSAL EXPO 2025 OSAKA / JAPAN

WEEK DEDICATED TO THE DRC — FROM JUNE 23 TO 30, 2025
As part of the strengthening of economic and commercial diplomacy, the Prime Minister of the Democratic Republic of Congo, Mrs. Judith Suminwa, arrived this Thursday, June 26, 2025 in Osaka, Japan. His visit takes place in the context of the week dedicated to the DRC at the Universal Expo Osaka 2025, organized from June 23 to 30.

On her arrival, she was welcomed by the Minister of Foreign Trade, Julien Paluku Kahongya, as well as by her colleague in charge of Communication and Media, Patrick Muyaya, accompanied by several representatives of public companies.

Upon her installation, the Head of Government chaired a strategic meeting aimed at maximizing opportunities for the DRC to take full advantage of this major economic meeting, which brings together more than 170 countries since its opening last April.

According to Minister Julien Paluku, the participation of the Prime Minister in this event constitutes an excellent showcase to promote the opportunities that the DRC offers to the world. It is part of an approach to strengthening Congolese soft power, through an offensive strategy focused on active and continuous participation in major economic forums and international exhibitions.

Among the highlights of his agenda are a tête-à-tête with the Japanese Prime Minister, the launch of the DRC-Japan economic forum, as well as the supervision of the signing of several memorandums of understanding. Judith Suminwa will also speak to an audience of women leaders and entrepreneurs from the four corners of the world.
