WEEK DEDICATED TO THE DRC AT THE OSAKA UNIVERSAL EXPO: CULTURAL AND TOURIST DAY
Open since June 23 in Japan, the week dedicated to the Democratic Republic of Congo at Expo 2025 Osaka is a great success. Many captivating activities attract thousands of visitors, who also flock to the national pavilion and the trade stand of the DRC, a country presented as a solution in the global energy transition.
This Friday, June 27, 2025, the DRC pavilion and commercial stand were visited by the Minister of Foreign Trade, Julien Paluku Kahongya, accompanied by his colleague in charge of Culture, Arts and Heritage, Yolande Elebe.
The DRC's participation in this major international meeting, which brings together more than 170 countries, strengthens its economic and commercial diplomacy. It aims in particular to increase exports of Made in Congo products to Japan and other world markets, as highlighted by the Minister of Foreign Trade.
At the same time, the DRC cultural and tourism day plunged Osaka into a festive atmosphere. The Congolese rumba, recognized as an intangible cultural heritage of humanity by UNESCO, was performed and danced with enthusiasm by Japanese and representatives of other nations present at the Expo, seduced by the richness of Congolese culture.
“Culture must contribute to building the DRC’s soft power,” declared the Minister of Culture, Arts and Heritage.
Note that the DRC-Japan Economic Forum will be launched this Saturday by the Prime Minister, Judith Suminwa, in front of several Japanese business leaders, already attracted by the numerous opportunities that the DRC offers in various sectors.
