CLOSURE OF THE 9TH EDITION OF THE TOKYO INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE ON THE DEVELOPMENT OF AFRICA-TICAD C E FRIDAY AUGUST 22, 2025 IN YOKOHAMA: THE DRC LANDS AN INCREASE IN COMMERCIAL TRADE WITH JAPAN THROUGH THE EXPECTED SIGNATURE OF AN AGREEMENT ON PROMOTION AND THE PROTECTION OF JAPANESE INVESTMENTS IN THE DRC BUT ALSO OFFICIALLY INVITED TO THE GREEN EXPO 2027 IN YOKOHAMA FROM MARCH 19 TO SEPTEMBER 26, 2027

This is a great harvest achieved by the Democratic Republic of Congo in the Foreign Trade sector on the sidelines of the 9th Tokyo International Conference on African Development-TICAD which closed this Friday, August 22, 2025 in Yokohama with several resolutions and recommendations to realize the co-creation of innovative solutions by transforming challenges into opportunities in the African continent and whose 10th edition will be organized in 3 years in Africa

In an interview given to the Congolese and Japanese press, the Minister of Foreign Trade, Julien Paluku Kahongya, who was part of the delegation of Prime Minister Judith Suminwa Tuluka, welcomed the fallout from the economic and commercial diplomacy carried out vigorously for 3 days, with the expected increase in the volume of trade between the DRC and Japan, through the signing within a short time of an agreement on the promotion and protection of Japanese investments in the DRC by putting particular emphasis on agricultural and livestock products.
Also the Minister of Foreign Trade welcomed the partnership concluded with the Japanese Foreign Trade Organization, because the DRC through the National Agency for the Promotion of Exports-
ANAPEX and the National Agency for the Promotion of Investments-
ANAPI will now benefit from the expertise of this large Japanese structure to increase the volume of its trade with several countries around the world and grant facilities to large Japanese companies that will set up in the DRC, beyond the start-ups already present in the country.

On the sidelines of TICAD 9, the DRC was officially invited to the Green Expo 2027 which will be held in Yokohama from March 19 to September 26, 2027 under the theme "Landscape of the future for happiness" added Minister Julien Paluku Kahongya

Note that alongside the Prime Minister, Judith Suminwa Tuluka, the Minister of Foreign Trade took active part in several bilateral meetings including that with the Japanese Prime Minister, Ishiba Shigeru focused on the consolidation of economic and commercial cooperation, with
with the Ivorian Prime Minister, Robert Beugré Mambé, with the President of the Japanese Agency for International Cooperation-JICA, Tenaka Akihiko who promised to strengthen technical and financial support in different sectors and with the officials of the Japanese Foreign Trade Organization-JETRO as well as those of Japan Organization for Metals and Energy Security-JOGMEC, but also the Head of Government accompanied by her Ministers and National Deputies Carly Nzanzu Kasivita and Adjio Gidi visited the stands of large Japanese companies and ANAPI.
