CLOSURE OF THE 14TH MEETING OF THE ZLECAF COUNCIL OF MINISTERS IN ZANZIBAR, TANZANIA

The increase in intra-African trade and the promotion of the development of value chains and Special Economic Zones constitute the key recommendations of the 14th meeting of the Council of Foreign Trade Ministers of the African Continental Free Trade Area-ZLECAF which closed in Zanzibar in the United Republic of Tanzania with an appeal from the Vice-President of this archipelago, Hamed Suleiman Abdulla, which consists of further mobilizing the African Heads of State of take ownership of the objectives of the ZLECAF.
The Democratic Republic of Congo with its internal planning instruments is preparing firmly so as not to be a dumping ground within the ZLECAF reassures Julien Paluku Kahongya, Minister of Foreign Trade and rapporteur of these meetings

On the sidelines of this meeting, the Congolese Minister of Foreign Trade requested from the Secretary General of the ZLECAF, Wamkele Mene the organization next October in Kinshasa of the 15th meeting of the Council of Ministers of the ZLECAF and the private sector forum bringing together economic operators from Central Africa with a view to exploring the markets created by this Free Trade zone but also the installation of a representation of the ZLECAF in Kinshasa
Note that the ZLECAF will help reduce Africa's current commercial dependence on its external partners.
