CORRIDOR DE LOBITO : Dilolo-Skania lancé
Happy to have witnessed the signing, this Wednesday, August 26, 2026 in Kinshasa, of the concession contract and the collaboration agreement between the DRC and MOTA-ENGIL ENGENHARIA E CONSTRUÇÃO AFRICA, S.A.
This agreement covers the financing, rehabilitation, modernization, operation, maintenance and transfer of the 1,004.5 kilometer Dilolo-Skania railway line.
The ceremony took place in the presence of the two Heads of State, Félix-Antoine TSHISEKEDI (DRC) and João LOURENÇO (Angola), as well as members of the Government responsible for implementation.
This decisive step consolidates both the strategic partnership between the DRC and the United States and the bilateral DRC-Angola axis.
It constitutes a real catalyst for prosperity for the entire region, directly stimulating the growth of trade and promoting the creation of sustainable jobs for local populations.
Four major areas were addressed during this working visit:
●The Lobito Corridor and its structuring role.
●The Zone of Common Interest (ZIC), relating in particular to joint oil exploitation.
●Additional supply of petroleum products via SONANGOL.
●The supply of electricity, essential to fill the energy deficit and support the transformation of our economy.
As the Angolan President recalled, Kinshasa and Luanda are finally moving on to concrete achievements, giving substance to the initial memorandum of understanding signed in 2003.
