START THIS MONDAY IN KINSHASA OF THE APPROPRIATION WORKSHOP OF THE NATIONAL EXPORT PROMOTION AND DIVERSIFICATION STRATEGY – SPED
To increase the volume of exports from the Democratic Republic of Congo by taking advantage of the opportunities offered by the American market with AGOA, Chinese with the bilateral trade agreement signed, European and African with the African Continental Free Trade Area-ZLECAF; the Ministry of Foreign Trade through the National Agency for the Promotion of Exports - ANAPEX launched this Monday in Kinshasa the workshop for the appropriation of the National Strategy for the Promotion of Exports and Diversification -
SPED by its agents and executives.
For the Minister of Foreign Trade, Julien Paluku Kahongya, the implementation of the SPED requires the involvement of sectoral ministries including that of Agriculture, Rural Development, Fisheries and Livestock, Hydraulic Resources and Electricity, Industry, SMEs, Transport, Foreign Affairs, Planning, but also the provinces, producers and operators, said Benezeth Msafiri Kyakakala, his Chief of Staff
Presenting the objectives, issues and strategic axes of the SPED focused on the diversification of the Congolese economy, Professor Henri Gerendawele insisted on the operational framework of the National Strategy for the Promotion of Exports and Diversification SPED which is based on the speed of reorganizing priority sectors, mastery of the technological requirements of the product, access to private and public financing, mastery of health and phytosanitary requirements, the existence of commercial agreements concerning products to maximize regional opportunities and sub-regional, the identification of products according to Special Economic Zones and the existence of the logistics chain with the mode of delivery and conservation of products
The contribution of SPED will help the DRC to increase the volume of its exports in the agricultural sector, currently estimated at 0.4% compared to 99.6% of mining products and hydrocarbons, added Mike Tambwe, Director General of ANAPEX while calling on the experts of this public establishment to play a capital role in commercial diplomacy.
