MINISTRY OF FOREIGN TRADE: MINISTER JULIEN PALUKU KAHONGYA PROVIDES HIS MINISTRY’S CENTRAL ADMINISTRATION WITH TWO BRAND-NEW BUSES FOR STAFF TRANSPORT

Determined to improve working conditions and transport for staff at his Ministry’s Central Administration, the Minister for Foreign Trade, Julien Paluku Kahongya, on Saturday 24 October 2026 in Kinshasa, handed over two brand-new, large Tata Motors buses to the Secretary-General for Foreign Trade, Eugène Manga Manga, who was flanked by administrative staff and managers who were overjoyed at this gift, as it is the first of its kind since the Ministry of Foreign Trade was established in the Democratic Republic of the Congo.

This initiative, which has today put a smile back on the faces of the staff at the General Secretariat for Foreign Trade, forms part of the fulfilment of one of the six commitments made by the President of the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Félix Tshisekedi, which is to modernise the public administration and improve staff mobility, as Minister Julien Paluku Kahongya explained, whilst emphasising the need for these vehicles to be used responsibly.

The Secretary-General for Foreign Trade, Eugène Manga Manga, described this as a real sigh of relief for staff, who will no longer have to face the daily transport nightmare, and praised the Head of State, the Prime Minister and the Minister for Foreign Trade.

As for the trade union delegation, its President, Liévin Vulu N’Lopo, thanked the Minister for Foreign Trade for his wholehearted commitment to improving working conditions and transport for staff in his department, who have already benefited from a brand-new jeep and minibus, as well as IT and solar equipment.
