CLOSING OF THE UK-DRC ECONOMIC FORUM IN LONDON

It was on a note of satisfaction following the signing of the London Declaration that the UK–Democratic Republic of the Congo Economic Forum – which, over three days, brought together more than 80 heads of major British companies, representatives of the Congolese private sector and officials from both countries – drew to a close on Wednesday 4 November 2026 in the British capital

Speaking to the national and international press, the Minister for Foreign Trade, Julien Paluku Kahongya, spoke of a highly successful outcome achieved by the delegation sent by the President of the Republic, Félix Antoine Tshisekedi Tshilombo, as British investors, attracted by the business opportunities offered by the DRC in several sectors – including trade, agribusiness, transport, infrastructure, energy, mining, new technologies and tourism – are now eager to visit the DRC to explore these opportunities and establish joint ventures with Congolese companies.

This forum has further strengthened the development of the DRC’s soft power, said the Minister for Communication and Media, Patrick Muyaya Katembwe, whilst once again inviting British investors to join the Lobito and Banana corridors project.

It should be noted that the aim of this forum was to strengthen trade whilst adhering to British standards, encourage bilateral investment and turn discussions into bankable projects.
